Can we move away from a monolithic release where everything needs to be upgraded to upgrade even one bundle? Note that this is related to, but not the same as continuous release.
  • One approach to this would be as simple as having all projects in OpenDaylight test against both the current released version of their dependencies and the previous one, e.g., during Beryllium development test against Beryllium master and Lithium on stable/lithium. This would mean that you could (theoretically) pick and choose which features/bundles to load from which release.
  • As part of this, it would be interesting to also talk about doing a faster release cadence, e.g., 3-4+ releases per year instead of once every 7-8 months.
