IPv4/v6 Longest Prefix Match Support in MD-SAL - TBD

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Since OpenDaylight is a *network* controller, it would be nice to have support for longest *prefix* match in MD-SAL: being able to pass an IPv4 or IPv6 prefix as the node for a read operation, and getting back a reply with a node that is the longest prefix match for the requested node. Something like an L3 routing table implementation. I think that apart from the lispflowmapping project, the BGPCEP project would also benefit, and probably others. Example: PUT a node under /restconf/config/lfm-mapping-database:mapping-database/instance-id/0/mapping/ipv4:192.0.2.1%2f24/ then, if no other such nodes exists, GETting /restconf/config/lfm-mapping-database:mapping-database/instance-id/0/mapping/ipv4:192.0.2.1%2f32/ should return whatever was stored under the first node.
