YANG models express services, networks and devices controlled below ODL and REST APIs exposed to applications above. Most applications employ a user interface (UI) thus requiring the developer to be familiar with YANG, REST and UI frameworks.

In this presentation, Juraj Sebin will explain and demonstrate the YANG UI tool. It addresses a developer need for a simple tool to drive model-driven RESTCONF API calls from a DLUX UI. The YANG UI tool takes models loaded into the controller and generates a simple UI. Entering values at the prompts enables the developer to perform a configuration or operational dialog with the platform. The developer no longer needs to associate YANG models with REST API calls. The use of REST POST utilities is minimized, as is the need to handcraft an initial UI. The YANG UI tool will simplify ODL application development.
